Call for Entries: "On the Surface on The Ramp!"

St. Louis Artists’ Guild announces a Call for Entries for “On the Surface on The Ramp!” Artworks that demonstrate some surface design process, i.e. dyeing, stamping, stenciling, embroidery, beading, or other embellishment techniques. Size limits. St. Louis Artists’ Guild members only. Juried opportunity to exhibit artwork concurrently with Surface Design Associations' “Beyond the Surface” exhibit presented in the Main Gallery at St. Louis Artists' Guild September 20-October 23, 2019. Opening reception Thursday, October 3, 5-8 p.m. Be an integral part of this exciting event as SDA visits St. Louis October 3-6 for their Biennial “Beyond the Surface” Conference. Juror: St. Louis-based textile artist & educator Luanne Rimel. Rimel's work has been included in "Quilt National" and exhibited in the "Smithsonian Craft Show," Washington, D.C. Her works are published in Art Quilts of the Midwest (University of Iowa Press). Luanne holds an MFA in Fibers from SIU Edwardsville. She served as Director of Education at Craft Alliance + Design, St. Louis, MO for 16 years and is currently a full-time studio artist. Rimel's work is represented locally by Duane Reed Gallery.
