Call for Entries: Missouri Fiber Artists’ "Speaking of Fibers 2019: Stories of Importance." Original fiber artworks, 2-d & 3-d media. No ceiling hung work or perishable material. Open to Missouri Fiber Artists member artists (join http://www.missourifiberartists.org). All works for this show must be connected to the theme, “Stories of Importance.” Artists are encouraged to use complexity of methods in artworks. Embellish works with non-fiber elements; paper is considered fiber, could be used solely or combined with textiles. Fiber methods, such as crocheted wire are considered fiber art. Invent new methods and be challenged by your materials. Larger works are also encouraged. Show: October 31-December 13, 2019, Maryville University, May Gallery. Juror: Fran Gardner, artist & fiber art educator, South Carolina. Awards. Juried by jpegs online. Artist's statement required for each artwork submitted. New deadline: May 26, 2019. $30/3 artworks. 2 images per artwork required and to include 1 full view and 1 detail view. Artist statement (max 1,000 characters) each entry.
